Line Drive Hitting a Base and Getting Caught

Question?

Dave Reynolds from Seattle WA asks:

If a line drive hits second base, pops in the air, and is caught before hitting the ground, is the batter out?

No, the batter is not out and the ball is played just as if it had hit the infield dirt.
