Designated Hitter Playing In The Field

Question?

Walter Middleton from Texas asks:

What happens if the DH is made to play in the field during a game?

According to the major league rule book, if a designated hitter plays in the field he will stay in his spot in  the batting order but the pitcher must bat in the position of the substituted player in the batting order.
